Position Highlights |
Department faculty coordinators (DFC) are assigned multiple clinical departments within the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Under limited supervision, they work directly with their department chairs and faculty to ensure that their assigned departments complete all required faculty affairs related tasks as requested by the Provost's Office, ABOR, Office of the Dean, LCME, AAMC and the Office of Academic & Faculty Affairs (OAFA).

Duties & Responsibilities |
Faculty Life Cycle:
- Responsible for managing the execution of all steps in the faculty life cycle for assigned department(s).
- Consults with department committees and leaders on initial title and promotion/tenure decisions; advises on current processes and policies.
- Advise prospective and current faculty of rank and track criteria; provide recommendations and training on process.
Faculty Affairs:
- Manage faculty annual review process for College - and BUMG-employed faculty including ensuring completion of peer review committee and department chair evaluations.
- Collect data and prepare detailed report of department faculty involvement annually; collaborate with department chairs to decide on continued titling for new academic year.
- Serve as liaison to OAFA and external departments as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining institutional and departmental data in conjunction with university and office policies and processes.
- Collaborate with GME Office to provide DCC resident/fellow titles for assigned departments.
Department Support:
- Facilitate conflict resolution for DCC faculty in assigned departments.
- Responsible for preparing department reports for accreditation and leadership purposes.
- Coordinate directly with department chairs and administrative team to facilitate department meetings.
- Develop and conduct training for department faculty.
- Oversee continuing medical education (CME) RSS events for assigned departments.
- Manage budget for department faculty-affairs needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience in managing multiple and competing demands/projects.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

* Have experience working in an academic medicine setting. * Have experience working in Smartsheet. |
