DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the Forest Fire Specialist Supervisor in the Northern Area of the William Penn Forest District by aiding in the prevention, suppression, and investigation of wildfires, in addition to contributing to district maintenance initiatives and the Federal Surplus Program.

- Seasonal full-time employment, without benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- The work location will be determined from one of the following, based on preference of selected candidate:
- Lehigh Field Office, 4935 Orchard Rd. Schwenksville, PA 18078
- Hopewell Fire Control Station, 617 Fire Tower Rd. Birdsboro, PA 19508
- Overtime maybe be required in emergency situations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three months of experience in forest fire suppression or pre-suppression work and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
