JOB DESCRIPTION The Blood Bank Prep Technician shall have a sound knowledge of processing all types of specimens with attention to detail and accuracy. Enters results into the Blood Bank and Laboratory Computer System under the supervision of a Technologist. Performs data entry associated with component modification, labeling, storage, issuing and shipping ensuring accurate and complete records. Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment. Performs the quarantine and disposition of unacceptable blood components and/or specimens. Maintains inventory of reagents and blood products. EDUCATION Two years of college with an emphasis in science OR a minimum of 2 years of appropriate laboratory experience. EXPERIENCE Two years of college with an emphasis in science OR a minimum of 2 years of appropriate laboratory experience.
