The Physician Fellow learns and practices medical care to patients in a supportive and collaborative environment. The Physician Fellow works closely with experienced medical professionals to gain hands-on clinical experience and develop specialized skills in their field of specialty, providing the Physician Fellow with valuable experience and skills necessary to pursue a rewarding career in medicine. Job Responsibilities Works alongside physicians and attends medical rounds to evaluate patients and monitor their progress. Attends and participate in multidisciplinary clinical conferences and research meetings. Performs routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and assists in complex surgical procedures as instructed. Provides support to other healthcare professionals in the assessment and management of patients. Monitors patient progress, communicates effectively with patients and their families, and provides education about disease prevention and management. Collaborates with other medical staff members in the management of clinical cases, develops treatment plans, and provides ongoing care to patients. Participates in ongoing professional development activities to increase knowledge and skills in their field of specialty. May perform additional duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Certification - None RequiredLicensure - Physician Upon Start; Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of VirginiaExperience - Physician Residency; Successful completion of physician residency programEducation - Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution
