Connect With Us Assistant Director, Capital Programs (Hybrid) Cap Prgm, Real Est, & Util Svc Posting Category: The Assistant Director of Capital Programs will provide leadership to develop and oversee activities related to capital programs and policy at the University. including the technical review of the construction delivery process and the design/engineering issues related to the University's capital projects. The Assistant Director of Capital Programs will provide assistance in the applicability of capital delivery systems in support of overall capital operations and services at all campus locations. This position is hybrid and can be on any of our three campuses, Urbana-Champaign, Chicago or Springfield. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Required: 1. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in construction management, project coordination, communication and design / construction work. 2. Demonstrated leadership skills to identify, develop, and implement successful strategies to achieve organizational short- and long-term objectives and goals. 3. Highly developed verbal and written communications skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate complex, technical information/data in a user-friendly format. 4. Demonstrated exceptional teamwork skills. 5. Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships and proficiency working in a complex environment. 6. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex, technical policies/procedures (including government statutes/rules/guidelines/regulations) applicable to construction engineering and project management. 7. Strong customer-service skills 8. Excellent administrative skills that reflect good judgment and discretion. 9. Proficiency with Microsoft computer programs/applications. Preferred: 1. Work experience acquired in a higher education institution or other public sector in the areas of capital planning, design, project management, budget and scheduling. 2. Relevant experience in project management and/or performance improvement; professional experience in University or other public sector planning, capital project management, and budgeting. 3. Relevant experience in procurement processes and/or contract management; ability to read ,interpret and update contracts and policy documents. 4. Experience with capital construction project management information systems. 5. Familiarity with public higher education in Illinois. APPOINTMENT INFORMATION This is a Full Time academic professional position. The expected start date is 4/16/2025. Sponsorship for Work Authorization is not available for this position. The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000.00 - 110,000.00. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
