The Research and Development team at Georgia-Pacific for Gypsum and Wood Products is seeking an Innovation Project Manager. This role is pivotal in transforming innovative ideas into reality! You will collaborate with key stakeholders, and drive product improvement, new product offerings, operational changes, and line extensions. The Innovation Project Manager will manage multiple projects in various phases, ensuring timely and safe execution while anticipating and overcoming challenges. Collaboration with multiple groups is essential to align efforts and meet project deadlines. This position requires exceptional project management skills and the ability to facilitate effective communication among team members and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
What You Will Do Key Responsibilities: Project Management: * Lead key innovation initiatives through the pipeline stages. * Ensure engagement of appropriate capabilities at each project phase, clearly understanding and delivering on project milestones. * Organize gate reviews and maintain team accountability for milestone achievements. * Proactively raise awareness of timeline, resourcing, or technical challenges, managing mitigation plans effectively. * Facilitate project scope development and change management. * Facilitate project execution including strategic planning, decision facilitation, progress oversight, risk management, and continuous improvement. Innovation Metrics & Best Practices: * Track and report on innovation metrics to monitor project progress. * Implement project management best practices tailored to Building Products innovation at Georgia-Pacific. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: * Engage with Georgia-Pacific corporate capability groups, including legal, product management, product safety, engineering, sales, etc., to ensure comprehensive project support. Competencies: * Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. * Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical. * Ability to communicate and lead effectively in a cross-functional team environment. * Proven ability to lead through influence and drive team alignment. * Highly curious and a strong challenge partner with a proactive problem-solving mindset. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Basic understanding of project management and familiarity with project management tools. * At least 3+ years of experience in managing project work * Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams. * Willing and able to travel What Will Put You Ahead * Experience in the Building Products industry or knowledge of Building Products. * Experience in a manufacturing setting. * Over 5 years of full-cycle project management experience. * PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
