Job Highlights
  • Promote the sales of products for the Business Line Industrial Solutions team by developing sales tactics that are aligned with the global and regional marketing strategies.
  • Plan and complete routine in-person customer visits at a level of 50% travel. Utilize virtual meetings when in person meetings are not possible.
  • Routinely identify new opportunities at both existing and new customers that are then captured and managed via the Opportunity Funnel.
  • Enhance relationships with both current and new customers at all levels and functions of the customers organization utilizing the LANXESS team resources including Marketing, R&D, Sales Management, Business Management, etc.
  • Negotiate multi-year sales agreements with key and strategic customers that provide win-win solutions for both LANXESS and our customers.
  • Utilize LANXESS team resources to provide both business and technical solutions for our customers.
  • Routinely collect and communicate information on industry trends and customer activities to further all marketing and sales efforts.
  • Attend and actively participate in trade shows that are identified by marketing and the Head of Sales.
  • Responsible for maintaining the day-to-day activities such as resolving customer issues, writing call reports, providing forecasts, presenting weekly sales updates, developing and implementing strategic account plans, following up on accounts receivables, and preforming all other day to day account maintenance requirements.
  • Participate and complete all required safety and compliance training.
Requirements
  • Must have a customer focused mentality.
  • BA,BS Degree from an accredited College or University required. BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in chemical sales required. Experience selling biocides preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to travel to visit customers in the US and Canada 50% of the time is required.
  • Communication - express ideas / information clearly, concisely, use active listening skills.
  • Teamwork - work productively with others, seek opportunities to bring people together
  • Persuasiveness / negotiation - gain acceptance of ideas through communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Self-management - ability to operate independently and manage time well while maintaining communication with the team.
  • Computer proficient with expertise in the use of Microsoft Office software package and CRM's.
