Leading, developing, and managing the facility environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role requires a proactive leader who can foster a culture of safety, promote environmental stewardship, and ensure the health and safety of all employees and stakeholders within the facility. Reports to the Plant Manager and work with their staff on a regular basis. Has a dotted line reporting structure to the Division EHS Manager. In matters of EHS, will be directly responsible for successful implementation of EHS programs and procedures. __X__Has Direct Reports ____ Does Not Have Direct Reports
- Responsible for leading EHS programs and procedures cascaded from Corporate, Group or Division to meet EHS objectives and targets with an emphasis on Safety and Incident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance and Resource Conservation.
- Responsible for leading the successful use of EHS management systems which includes the Corporate EHS Directives, ISO 14001 certification and any other applicable EHS management system certifications or elements.
- Responsible for leading an EHS corrective action program which would include EHS audits, regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, customer EHS audits and other assessments that identify EHS issues that require corrective action.
- Responsible for maintaining a resource conservation program which will include but not be limited to energy use, water use, and waste generated from production.
- Leads an EHS program for change which includes new processes, equipment, materials and people.
- Leads by example to develop an EHS culture of excellence for safety and environmental management through effective communication.
- Routinely interfaces with the leadership team regarding EHS issues, performance and plan.
- Develop and implement programs and procedures to meet facility objectives and targets in EHS.
- Support with developing, delivering, and managing all EHS training.
- Onsite contact for Division, Group, and Corporate EHS Department and under their direction, manage EPA actions such as, but not limited to, NOV's, cleanups and complaints.
- Onsite contact for Division, Group, and Corporate EHS Department and under their direction manage OSHA actions such as, but not limited to, inspections, letters of noncompliance, informal conferences.
- Direct all applicable EHS reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures compliance with Corporate EHS Policy and Directives.
- Supports customer EHS requirements (i.e. IMDS).
- Develop, measure and track internal EHS metrics, plans and goals.
- Ensures required safety and environmental reports are prepared and submitted (ie..OSHA, Tier II, TRI / Form R, emissions, etc.)
- Report directly to plant staff and division management on EHS matters.
- Lead training and development for facility EHS resources.
- Attend scheduled company-sponsored EHS Conference or annual Country council meetings.
- Direct the division's waste management (recycling) program.
- Support and Integrate EHS into Operations, Lean, HR, and Supply Chain efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, engineering, science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an EHS role leading others, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial or facility management setting.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or similar credentials are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have good problem-solving skills and experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels - Proven ability to lead training sessions and present information clearly and effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management softwareAbility to work in a variety of environments, including office settings and manufacturing facilities.
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in industrial settings.
- May require travel to other facilities
