SDFCU is seeking a Director, Business Systems Solutions to lead a team in defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining software applications to meet organizational needs. This includes overseeing all aspects of software development, from writing and coding to testing and analysis. The Director ensures the team researches, designs, documents, and modifies software specifications throughout the production life cycle while maintaining high standards and expectations. Additionally, the Director oversees the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and provides business lines with the data needed for analysis and decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with credit union staff to determine software needs and implement new programs
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging those systems
- Ensure maximum operational effectiveness of computer operations as it pertains to specific software at a minimum of cost to the organization
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
- Lead the team in the definition, development and documentation of all programming and application needs
- Oversee the maintenance and customization of current application software; design, program and implement software solutions to meet organizational needs using Symitar PowerOn, Repgen, PowerFrame, and other tools
- Liaise with other internal information technology department team members to lead in resolving problems with software products or software systems
- Ensure updating of credit union software by preparing new releases/patches/fixes/flashes from software vendors
- Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines for team
- Train end users to operate new/modified programs and train other members of IT to support such programs
- Manage all assigned BSS team projects and ensure teams are meeting goals and expectations related to projects
- Provide support and work after hours and on call 24/7. Must be able to respond to alerts and notifications in a timely manner and rotate with other team members for on-call duty
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, along with relevant certifications in the field
- A minimum 5 years of experience in an IT role, including computer programming, systems analysis, and database management
- At least 3 years of management experience
- Proficiency in Symitar (Episys) programming
- Experience with Repgen/PowerOn
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL) and expertise in one or more of the following programming languages: HTML5, CSS, PHP, Python, Perl, VB, C++, C#, or Java
