About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group based in Utah. We offer a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work with an established, passionate team of Engineers and Planners. This position is ideal for someone eager to take on project management responsibilities, strengthen client relationships, and drive business development efforts while contributing to a strong backlog of projects.

You Will:

  • Lead traffic operational analyses, transportation planning efforts, and multi-modal studies, including arterial and freeway analysis, transit planning, and non-motorized planning.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and maintain long-term partnerships with clients.
  • Present technical reports, memoranda, and recommendations while communicating project findings to clients, stakeholders, and our teams.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams across Parametrix to provide high-quality transportation solutions, mentor junior staff, and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in transportation and traffic engineering, with a focus on project management and client engagement.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, leading client interactions, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Synchro, VISSIM, Sidra, and Microsoft Excel for traffic operations analysis and modeling.

Compensation Information: Base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000-$135,000+.

Compensation is determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and role. As employee-owners, we are eligible for performance-based bonuses and our salaries are reviewed annually. We value transparency and look forward to discussing our compensation structure.
