Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will support the Manager of Corporate Accounting in ensuring that Hollister's consolidated financial statements are in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the consolidated financial statements. This individual will perform various accounting responsibilities including US and Canada fixed asset accounting, global monthly statutory close processes, and audit support. Hollister operates in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:




  • Month-End and Year-End Financial Analysis of Consolidated Results and Analyze Balance Sheet Accounts

    • Perform Canadian and US consolidated close process on a monthly basis
    • Prepare Canadian year-end financial statement reporting package and financial statements
    • Prepare and review entries from various Finance teams across the globe to ensure accuracy and compliance with global accounting policies
    • Responsible for reconciling and analyzing Canadian and US balance sheet accounts
    • Perform balance sheet and P&L account analysis and follow-up with other departments to address any unusual balances or transactions to assure Balance Sheet integrity

      • Prepare monthly journal entries coming from the account analysis performed above


    • Prepare and record necessary consolidating/eliminating entries in order to comply with US GAAP
    • Assist in the year end consolidated close and preparation of the consolidated financial statements and notes to the financials
    • Assist in consolidating and analyzing year end reporting packages from the subsidiaries


  • Interim and Year End Audit Support

    • Assist with interim and year-end external audit
    • Work with external auditors on request list
    • Prepare appropriate interim and year end audit request documentation


  • Fixed Asset Accounting

    • Responsible for recording and reconciling Fixed Assets within SAP
    • Complete monthly depreciation journal entries
    • Report and reconcile depreciation expense
    • Assist with the timely closing of US and Canadian capital projects by supporting locations and departments throughout the process
    • Complete a rotating annual physical Fixed Asset audit at all US and Canadian locations
    • Liaison between Business Units and Accounting for domestic Fixed Asset concerns
    • Roll forward US rates annually for internal labor capitalization
    • Support global locations as needed


  • Global Statutory Filings

    • Participate in the global statutory financial statement review process with all branches and subsidiaries


  • Support the Manager of Corporate Accounting

    • Provide support to internal customers on accounting issues and consolidated close processes
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement ways to automate manual accounting processes
    • Perform special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned
    • Research U.S. GAAP treatment as needed





Requirements:




  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 2-5
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related technical field
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred



Specialized Skills:



  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • ERP system knowledge preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple demands and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with various levels of management and associates globally
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
  • If applicable: This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Secure Start Bonus Plan. The Company also provides a unique Benefit of Employee Share Ownership Program (BESOP) program based on earnings and length of service.
