RequirementsEducation: Masters degree in divinity or theology from a fully accredited university or seminary is required. Verification of a minimum of four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE) by an accredited Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) center is required. Experience: 1 year of experience as a functioning chaplain preferred. Certification: Board certification or eligible for board certification within two years of employment by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, the Association of Professional Chaplains, or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains is required.
