Overview

The Analyst of Institutional Financial Sponsors will contribute in pitching and advising Institutional Financial Sponsors on balance sheet debt capital strategies. The analyst will have primary responsibilities for partnering with senior members in the origination, structure, and execution of specific Credit Facilities and Investment Trade Activities. Independently identifies areas of further analyses.

The Institutional Financial Sponsors group, within the Specialty Capital Banking group, is CNB's interface in the institutional markets and sponsors across the Private Equity, Private Credit, Hedge Fund, Asset Managers, Family Offices, etc.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals, including but not limited to deposit, loans and other, as applicable.

  • Partner in the originating, structuring, and executing of Institutional transactions across multiple industry verticals as an active member within the Bank's Specialty Capital team.

  • Analyze new client opportunities for specialty credit and investment transactions (e.g. term loans, revolvers, credit facilities, fund finance facilities, portfolio facilities, secondary market, private placements, A/B note structures, note on note facilities, asset-backed facilities, etc.).

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within Specialty Program.

  • Review and analyze market data, valuation analyses, models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables.

  • Present recommendations for resolving business challenges and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Contribute with the Senior Bankers in arranging new deals from inception to closing including review of financials, operating agreements, fund documents, engaging in the due diligence process, and negotiating loan documentation with legal counsel.

  • Independently administer and maintain the Institutional Pipeline, Directory, etc.

  • Prepare proposals, pitchbooks, and presentations to the client.

  • Attend and/or lead industry events (e.g. capital markets, structured finance, asset-backed securities, etc.)

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging opportunities that could impact the capital strategy such participant lender activities, market pricing, credit appetite, etc.

  • Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.

  • Leads multiple projects with significant scope and impact.

  • Engage with corporate and sponsor clients, particularly on execution matters.

  • Work with legal, Risk and KYC to onboard clients for trading.

  • Engage extensively with clients in all aspects of specialty credits (e.g. ABS, Fund Finance, Capital Market transactions).

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Qualifications

  • 2 years of proven experience in capital markets, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • Experience covering Financial Sponsors Private Equity (Asset Management, Specialty Finance, Private Credit, Hedge Funds, Market Structure, and/or Depositories)
  • Private markets fund experience is a big plus.

  • Familiarity with real estate finance, financial markets, and investment.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Independent judgment and discretion required.

  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and financial partners.

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.



Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
