Job Description:The Manager of Employee and Labor Relations is responsible for coordinating and directing effective employee and labor relations, programs and functions for John Muir Health (JMH), partnering with the Director of Talent Management. They foster a culture of engagement while working with Human Resources Business Partners in the management of all union contracts and the relationships between JMH and the unions. Using their broad knowledge in human resources, , the manager oversees the activities and personnel of the Business Partner program, providing essential support for a wide range of employee relations and human resources issues. Deals effectively with the diverse concerns and points of view of senior executives, managers, physicians, employees and others. Regularly recommends ways to improve labor and employee relations. Communicates changes in personnel policies, practices and procedures according to established guidelines and sound administrative practices in accordance with the mission, values and goals of JMH.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business, HR Management, or related field strongly preferred

  • 7+ years of equivalent experience in labor relations and employee relations or employment law will be considered in lieu of a degree

Experience:

  • 5 years of Human Resources Management or Other Leadership - Required

  • 5 years Human Resources Generalist/Employee Relations - Required

  • Collective bargaining and Labor Relations - Preferred

  • 2+ years Healthcare experience - Strongly Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • SPHR Senior Professional in Human Resources - HRCI HR Certification Institute Preferred or

  • PHR Professional in Human Resources - HRCI HR Certification Institute Preferred

Work Shift:Exempt Salaried (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$177,963.00 - $266,945.00 Salary
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
