Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA). We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President to provide strategic oversight and leadership in the administration of a comprehensive range of programs and services for students. As the leader of our student affairs division, the VPSA will play a crucial role in shaping the experiences of our students and creating a supportive and inclusive community that promotes academic achievement and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for student development, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and a proven record of accomplishment of success in a similar role. The VPSA will be a transformational, equity-minded, student-centered leader capable of managing change and building collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to continue enrollment growth, provide impactful support services to our students, and close equity gaps. This position serves as the chief student affairs officer, overseeing and strategically enhancing various student-related services and programs. These include student recruitment, enrollment and onboarding processes, financial aid, student records, academic advising, student life, retention services, disability services, counseling and health services, career services, grant programs, student conduct and care, international students, basic needs, veteran student services, student success coaching, and athletics. The VPSA is responsible for addressing student disciplinary matters and Title IX complaints and serves as a member of the threat assessment/CARE Team. Additionally, the VPSA leads and engages in strategic planning, promotes innovative ideas to improve productivity and efficiency, and continuously evaluates and further improves services within the Student Affairs division and the college. The role also includes serving on the oversight committees for Guided Pathways and Title III. In addition to overseeing departments and programs, the VPSA plays a key role in the institution's strategic planning and decision-making processes. As a member of the President's Executive Cabinet, they collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure the institution's mission and goals are achieved while addressing the needs of the student body effectively. The VPSA must be a creative problem-solver and have a collaborative and community-building leadership style, be knowledgeable of holistic student development theories, and have an understanding and appreciation for the mission of community colleges. Finally, the VPSA must have a demonstrated ability to engage with the college community at all levels (executive, administration, management, faculty, students, and staff) and the surrounding community. The incumbent should demonstrate unwavering commitment to academic and institutional excellence, prioritizing student success, and actively working towards reducing equity gaps. The VPSA is expected to maintain a visible and approachable presence for students, staff, faculty, and the community. Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a member of the college's Executive Cabinet, contributing to strategic planning, leadership, and operations while collaborating closely with Cabinet members to drive change, address challenges, and align the institution with student and industry needs.
- Lead strategic enrollment management to expand student access and drive enrollment growth.
- Provide leadership and advocacy for those college-wide activities that increase access, equitable student success, engagement, and completion (i.e. Penguin Path, Title III grants).
- Establish and implement a system of policy, program, and service review to ensure consistency with current, changing, and future needs of students and the community (i.e. Student Assessments).
- Supervise the dean of student engagement, associate deans, directors and associate directors, managers, classified staff, technical/support staff, and student staff.
- Serve as a leader in Guided Pathways, on the Guided Pathways Strategic Planning Team and Guided Pathways Advisory Council.
- Serve as a member of the Bias-Based Incident Team.
- Evaluate and oversee the development of professional development plans and goals for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Work with the grants office and the Clark College Foundation to secure funding for new and existing student service programs.
- Represent Student Affairs on various committees, leadership teams, and work groups.
- Lead the development and management of budgets in assigned areas.
- Provide state-wide leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating student service programs.
- Provide leadership in accordance with the mission and vision established by the college, furthering values, tenets, and priorities of the college.
- Ensure areas of responsibility operate effectively within the policies and procedures of the college and applicable governing agencies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for operating unit(s).
- Train, supervise, and evaluate employees in accordance with negotiated agreements, applicable state and federal laws, and college policies and procedures.
- Exercise effective stewardship over college resources.
- Prepare reports and analytical materials to illustrate objectives, activities, and accomplishments of areas of responsibility.
- Create and sustain a working environment that is welcoming, respectful, supportive, and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Strategic enrollment management.
- The administration and regulations of federal and state financial aid.
- Demonstrated skill in advocacy and the ability to champion and translate large-scale student success strategies.
- Experience working with and/or implementing Guided Pathways, advising redesign, intercollegiate athletics, and pre-college programs.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of methodologies such as anti-racist practices or other methods of interrupting systems of oppression in support of student success.
- Knowledge of culturally responsive and inclusive pedagogy and an understanding of the teaching and learning process.
- Administering student disciplinary procedures.
- Demonstrated success in leading and implementing student success strategies.
- Demonstrated experience with Title IX, disability services, student conduct and care, and restorative practices.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership development, coaching staff, supervision, and program development.
- Demonstrated experience with enrollment management with a focus on growing enrollment, eliminating barriers to access, retention, closing opportunity gaps, and increase student success outcomes, specifically for systemically non-dominant student populations.
- Demonstrated understanding and support of student life programs.
- Experience with data management, reporting, evaluation, and assessment of programs impact and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coordinate and guide systems.
- Experience with budget/resource management, grant management, and fundraising.
- Demonstrated experience, navigating across difference, and working in a Union environment,
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating and maintaining relations with external stakeholders (i.e. community-based organizations, local and state governmental agencies, and industry partners).
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in management (dean-level or higher) position in student affairs, instruction, and or educational administration.
- Experience developing initiatives that advance social equity working in a diverse environment.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary Range: $137,062 - $158,703 annually (commensurate with qualifications and experience). Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
