Join our Team: ME Tech/Weld Trainer
Huron, SD Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pm

Join our team at Terex Utilities and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated ME Tech/Weld Trainer to contribute to the Terex Utilities team.

As a ME Tech/Weld Trainer at Terex Utilities based in Huron, SD, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering instructional and hands-on training of new team members and team members who may need an upgrade of skills.

What you'll do
- Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures

- Adhere to promote the Terex Way Values

- Demonstrate and instruct proper use of welding equipment
- Ensure processes and procedures are taught to regulatory and company standards
- Teach and enforce safety and quality as a key element of all processes and procedures

- Conduct rigging training to new hires

- Inspect and oversee qualification testing to new welders

- Teach new welders how to read a print, weld symbols, defects and discontinuities, and other welding theory topics

- Teach basic weld inspection to new welders

- Teach how to use a torch, grinder, and air carbon arc gauge

- Teach new welders to maintain and adjust PAPR'S, and change lenses and batteries in weld hoods

- Teach new welders how to perform a hoist inspection and to inspect their air tools before use

- All other duties as assigned

What you'll bring

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish OR English and Karen
- Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints

- Ability to accurately read and understand tape measurements

- Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as simple hand tools and hand-powered hydraulic material handling devices

-Understand and demonstrate basic computer skills

Physical requirements

- Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:

- 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling, and lifting

The compensation range for this position is $26.83 - $32.79 hourly. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
