Johnson Controls Inc., is looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Engineer to monitor our current operations and determine more efficient production processes. The Logistics Engineer's responsibilities include performing time studies, analyzing operations for opportunities for improvement, designing workflows and improving material flow, efficient site and assembly layouts and production processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products meet the established quality standards. The Logistics Engineer is responsible, under the guidance of the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, for facilitating Logistical Engineering and Lean activities within the plant or a portion of the plant. Through implementation of specific action plans, training and advocacy, the incumbent will help to influence the organization to a new culture. They will demonstrate success through increased plant operational metrics performance. The incumbent will be responsible for using the processes, measurements, standards, and efforts available with the primary focus areas of Industrial Engineering & continuous improvement. The incumbent is fully accountable for supporting the creation of an inclusive and positive organizational culture while assisting developing their personal skills. How you will do it:
To be successful as an industrial engineer you should be able to design production systems that maximize productivity, reduce wastefulness and production issues, are cost-efficient, and ensure high product quality. Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements, maintaining labor models. Improve site Material Flow by using tools like PFEP, Floor space Planning tools and Inv. Calculations. Work projects to eliminate forklift from assembly shop, introducing Tugger trains. Work projects to reduce material from border line. Work lean manufacturing projects with focus in cost and inventory reduction. Calculate Capacity and maintain site capacity models. Design Flows, internal routes, internal milk runs. Design Carts / racks / internal packaging Define replenishment processes. Design Part presentation to assembly lines Perform Indirect Labor time studies, calculate utilization and developing action plans for improving plant efficiency. Improve Material flow and introduce Material automation. (AGV/VGV etc.,) Reviewing production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information. Map production processes / use Value Stream Mapping to identify constraints and help with constraint management. Developing and implementing process improvements and analyzing current processes for new technological upgrades. Developing design and production standards in cooperation with management and Shop personnel. Preparing material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs. Training staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals. Managing process/project documentation and preparing reports. Identifies waste and opportunities for the business to improve in (among others by using Lean principles and methodologies). Lead the cultural change of JCI employees (from firefighting culture to working according to standards), including leadership teams in their Lean competence development by coordinating the necessary training and coaching, and build internal capabilities. Utilize key Toyota Production System methodologies. Collaborate with site lean teams for improvements, participate or lead Kaizen events, and waste reduction.

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field of study 2+ years of relevant work experience Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and presentation skills. Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD. Time studies, calculating Capacity, Labor models. Experience in Toyota Production System principles and culture.

Masters in Industrial and Systems engineering or Relevant work experience > 5 years Project Management - Proven success in creating project schedules and milestones, leading teams, achieving results through influencing others, and being a strong team player. Innovative thinking - Ability to lead innovative and/or transformative projects and strives for continuous improvement. Analytical thinking - Exceptional ability to analyze data and utilize it to make sound business decision. Conflict management and resolution skills - Build consensus, anticipate and solve problems. Results focused - Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, and at times competing priorities. Communication skills - Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills necessary to lead and manage teams and projects effectively. Toyota Production System principal knowledge of Takt time, flow production, Kanban and Load leveling. Certified in MODAPTs or other time motion studies, AutoCAD, Lean & Six Sigma (Statistical knowledge, SPC, MSA, DOE, Capability studies), any problem solving tool. Ability to run Kaizen events.
