Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the North Shore of Long Island, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grants Administrator to join our team.


Position Responsibilities

This key role involves providing essential consultation to Principal Investigators (PIs) and CSHL administrators on a wide range of grant-related matters, including research awards, budgets, progress reports, and expenses. The Grants Administrator will oversee the setup and management of grants in CSHL's accounting system, ensuring accurate budgeting, personnel distribution, and compliance with institutional and funding agency requirements. This individual will also be responsible for preparing and submitting vital documentation such as Progress Reports, Sub-awards, and Prior Approval requests, as well as training new scientific administrators. The Grants Administrator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) leadership in maintaining and improving CSHL's grants management processes, ensuring compliance with all regulations and best practices.


Position Requirements

Education: A Bachelor's degree in either business, finance, accounting or biology is required; an advanced degree is a plus.

Skills and Experience: 1-6 years of relevant experience in a sponsored research/grants management environment. Excellent organizational, analytical, collaborative and consultative skills are required. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential. Experience designing, integrating and managing new business management software, a plus

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
