Lawrence Berkeley National Lab's (LBNL) Information Technology Division has an opening for a Senior PeopleSoft Technical Developer to join the team. In this exciting role, you will be a part of the Financial System Management group within the Business Systems department. This group works closely with the OCFO organization, including business analysts and end users, to maintain and develop new functionality in Oracle PeopleSoft Financials and related systems. What You Will Do:
- Provide operations and maintenance support to ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems.
- Debug and resolve reported system issues in a timely manner.
- Design and develop custom PeopleSoft components, including pages, menus, workflows, self-service components, batch jobs, reports, queries, and integrations using PeopleSoft development tools.
- Design and develop solutions using PeopleSoft Fluid Technology.
- Write clean, efficient code in PeopleSoft Application Engine (AE), SQR, and other relevant languages, perform unit testing, and ensure code quality meets standards.
- Design and implement data interfaces between PeopleSoft and external systems using appropriate integration methods like web services, application messages, or file transfers.
- Maintain and update existing customizations to accommodate PeopleSoft updates, tax changes, and new business requirements.
- Analyze and optimize PeopleSoft application performance to ensure efficient data processing and user experience.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions including design documents and deployment instructions.
- Lead technical projects with general guidance on new assignments.
- Work closely with business analysts and end users to understand functional requirements and use cases.
What is Required:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of PeopleSoft architecture.
- Proven track record with developing solutions and supporting one or more PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) modules, including: Project Costing, General Ledger (GL), eProcurement, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Travel, Supplier Contract Management (SCM), and Commitment Control.
- Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft applications programming tools and technology including: Application Engineer, Workflow /AWE, BI Publisher, PeopleCode language, etc.
- Experience with the development, configuration, and customization of Fluid Homepages, Dashboards, and Insights.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft development tools like Application Engineer, SQR, PS Query, and the PeopleCode language.
- Experience with database concepts, SQL, and data manipulation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with PeopleSoft tools and PUM upgrades.
- Oracle PeopleSoft University certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Notes:
- This is a full-time career appointment, exempt (monthly paid) from overtime pay.
- This position is expected to pay $129,948.00-$162,432.00, which fits within the full salary range of $129,948.00-$219,276.00 for the C70.3. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification and experience, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and aligned with the internal peer group.
