The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About the Role

The Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive experience for new hires from offer acceptance through their first weeks of employment. This role collaborates with HR, hiring managers, and other departments to manage the onboarding process, ensuring that all necessary paperwork, training, and introductions are completed efficiently. The Onboarding Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering engagement and retention by providing a structured and supportive onboarding experience.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, providing them with necessary information and guidance before and during onboarding.
  • Coordinate and assist with all aspects of the onboarding process including I-9 verification, and new hire documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies related to onboarding and new hire processes.
  • Work closely with TA, HR, hiring managers, IT, and facilities to ensure new employees have the necessary equipment, system access, and workspace upon arrival.
  • Organize new hire orientation sessions with our readysc partner, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for hourly employees
  • Organize new hire orientation for non-exempt employees ensuring a welcoming and informative experience running simultaneously to hourly sessions
  • Partner with readysc to participate and help host "pre-hire' sessions with upcoming hourly employees to better assist in talent streamlining
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date onboarding records in the HRIS and other relevant systems.
  • Provide support to new hires by addressing questions and resolving any issues that arise during their transition.
  • Track and monitor new hire progress, gathering feedback to continuously improve the onboarding experience.
  • Support broader HR initiatives related to talent acquisition, training, and employee engagement as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, or a related field, with a focus on onboarding and employee engagement preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service mindset.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws related to new hire processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment

Work Environment

The Onboarding Coordinator primarily works in an office setting but may be required to provide support in a manufacturing facility, which includes moderate noise levels and temperature variations. Collaboration with various departments and external partners is a key aspect of this role.
