Posting Summary
Support Instructor
The Summer Institute is a dynamic Summer Enrichment initiative designed to assist first-year students with transitioning from high school to college. The Institute focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed in the college classroom setting that scholars will need in the Fall semester.

We seek passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as support instructors for the School of Nursing Educational Opportunity Fund ( EOF) Summer Institute. This role begins with a tentatively scheduled Instructor Orientation in May 2025, followed by preparation and training meetings in June. Faculty Orientation and student onboarding will occur in late June, leading up to the core instructional period.

Instructors will be responsible for a syllabus, course instruction, tutoring, testing, student evaluation, participation in the end-of-program ceremony, and other administrative tasks. Please note that this program will be conducted fully in person on campus.

These preparatory courses are not part of an official academic program but are designed to align closely with Fall semester content to strengthen students' foundational knowledge:

Academic Components:
*Algebra Skills
*Anatomy & Physiology
*Seminar - Critical Thinking Skills
*English Skills
*Stats Skills
*Writing Skills

Responsibilities:
*Attend planning and pre-program training meetings.
*Deliver course instruction, administer exams, and assess student learning.
*Participate in SN- EOF faculty team meetings to monitor student academic progress.
*Track student performance through exams, quizzes, and assignments.
*Conduct diagnostic testing to assess student strengths and areas for growth.
*Provide supplemental academic support and coaching to students facing academic challenges.
*Collaborate with SN- EOF staff on special events, including:

  • Student and staff retreat
  • Debate competition
  • Newsletter contributions

  • EOF End-of-Summer Institute Ceremony
