Position Summary |
The
NIL Athlete Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting with operations surrounding the University of Georgia's
NIL programming including, but not limited to,
NIL deal facilitation and management of new athlete partnership opportunities with local, regional, and national brands, while monitoring and ensuring adherence to Southeastern Conference and
NCAA, and federal regulations. This position will be responsible for advancing
NIL marketing and activation efforts to ensure student-athletes, coaches, staff, and external stakeholders have the tools and resources necessary to maximize opportunities and navigate this continuously evolving space. |

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Organized, detailed oriented, and a self-starter.
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance practices.
- Knowledge of NCAA technological processes such as TeamWorks.

- Conceptualize and coordinate programming and resources that pair current athletes with NIL opportunities.
- Prospect, research, and close athlete marketing opportunities through cold-calling, cold-emailing, networking, and other sales processes.
- Develop new business for designated student-athletes through identification and pursuit of new and unique NIL opportunities.
- Create unique sponsorship opportunities for interested brands and maximize revenue potential.

- Develop a sales strategy for all designated university athletes and teams that delivers opportunities across campus in alignment with UGA, Southeastern Conference, NCAA, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist NIL team with the sales process.
- Assist student-athletes with coordination and activation of NIL opportunities.
- Assist in the creation and execution of social and digital media strategies that enhance athlete recruitment efforts for all designated UGA sports programs.

- Stay updated on the latest NIL trends and best practices, including legislative advancements, NCAA compliance regulations, and vendor landscape evolutions.
- Research and benchmark collegiate NIL industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions.
- Regularly participate in meetings and discussions regarding evolving trends in collegiate athletics and best practices.
- Maintain highest level of confidentiality, both within the organization and other external entities.
