PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for technical services in order to increase Castle's market share. Works with sales and technical support staff to develop meaningful commercial relationships with target customers and manage specific account relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (performs other duties as assigned):

  • Provides technical services by coordinating requests for technical information with the proper mills in order to respond to district/customer requests, material specification reviews, and the writing of Castle MD specifications.
  • Interacts with key suppliers and end users in order to develop and sustain profitable relationships.
  • Assists in the training of the sales force, and other employees, in product and market goals in order to promote increased sales within focused segments of the market.
  • Supports business unit and district sales staff by maintaining involvement with strategic pieces of business.
  • Provides input to the procurement function in order to ensure a strategic and competitive supply of product.
  • Maintains awareness of current developments in the metals business in order to provide information and data toward the development of leading edge products and services.
  • Develops and distributes quarterly newsletter to sales team to review key benefits of the Company's products and services.
  • May develop, or assist in the development of, marketing literature for sales staff and customer use. May publish articles in trade publications in order to improve awareness of the Company's position relative to a product or service offering.
  • Works closely with the quality department to manage quality audits, process updates to the quality management system, handle quality-related concerns.
  • Provides on-site tours for customers and shares expertise.
  • Oversees Test report certification and re-certification processes.
  • Performs metallurgical analyses for customer and mill claims.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of experience in sales and/or marketing within the metals industry
  • Solid business acumen with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the metals industry
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain productive business relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Strong analytical abilities and organization skills
  • Solid presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop marketing plans in concert with established sales objectives
  • Ability to manage long-term projects and programs
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to engage others in the accomplishment of marketing and sales objectives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General office environment (keyboard, mouse, telephone use)
  • Manual dexterity (grasp, hand/wrist movement)
  • Stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach
  • Exposure to powered industrial equipment
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to training plan
