Overview

Prepare, inspect/document any damage/technology, make sure units are clean inside and outside of all new/used equipment incoming and outgoing.

Also, responsible for the upkeep of the building, parking lots, yard lots. Always making sure it's a safe environment for employees and customers. Snow removal (clear all the service doors, as well as where the contractor leaves off), sweeping, moving equipment/trailers, salt all doors and sidewalks, weed control, etc.



Basic Duties

    Shipping & receiving of equipment. Prepare, inspect, track all new and used farm equipment documenting any damage at the time of delivery or shipping condition. M aintaining associated paperwork.
  • Track all shipping and receiving of equipment within the yard. - working closely with the Service Clerk. Inform the Service Clerk daily of all equipment that arrived or was shipped overnight.
  • Scan all equipment during delivery and return processes as well as maintaining associated paperwork.
  • Loading and unloading combine heads and platforms. Head trailers. Company owned are to be parked out of the way on the north gravel. Immediately, label/tag all customer's head trailers with names and date.
  • Keep the New/used/incoming/outgoing/shop repair equipment lots clean and organized. Use the magnet every couple of weeks to prevent punctured tires.
  • New Equipment and Demo machines, top off DEF & fuel levels. Make sure that the fluids are Charge out accordingly.
  • Winterize/treat all fuel tanks for equipment on the lot.
  • Confirm all liquid application equipment has been winterized.
  • Confirm and document the coolant's concentration/freeze point of ALL the equipment on the lot using a refractometer.
  • ALL Combines on the lot are to be sprayed Monthly with Peppermint oil. This is to keep mice out of the cabs.
  • Notify SM of any issues, damage, maintenance, or repairs needed on lots/buildings/vehicles.
  • Building Maintenance Duties -
    • Fork truck inspections - Parts, Shop, and Yard trucks as required per OSHA.
    • Fire Extinguisher inspections - Monthly
    • Ladder - Step Ladders, Step Stool Ladder, Rolling Cantilever Ladders inspections - Monthly.
    • Eye wash stations (Wash Bay and North Shop) Inspections - Weekly
    • Garbage and Cardboard (Shop and parts) Daily
    • Maintain the Waste dumpsters (Metal, Wood, and building). Call vendor when they are full and need to be emptied. Keep the area clean.
    • Refill the Propane tanks for the fork trucks and grills.
    • Monitor/Refill the water softener - Every 2 weeks let SM know the number of bags used.
    • Maintain the equipment showroom - keep clean, sweep, and use the floor scrubber.
    • Inspect and clean outside Air Condition condensers.
    • Change lower Furnace/A/C filters every 3 months.
    • Air Compressor inspection - Daily inspection of oil levels, maintenance oil & Air, performance test.
    • Order building consumables. Toilet paper, paper plates, plastic utensils, garbage bags, water softener salt, etc
    • Monitor Waste oil and antifreeze tank levels - call vendor (Valley) before they are completely full to empty.
    • Monthly and Annual inspections of all tanks, filling out the appropriate paperwork.
    • Member of the WB Safety Committee Meetings are monthly.
    • Safety walk throughs - inspect buildings, lots, & yard. Looking for any safety issues that need address that were missed. Notify the SM of any URGENT safety issues ASAP, report any issues found with the safety committee. Works to address any issues found
    • Fleet maintenance; schedule services, Vehicle/Trailer inspections, grease axles, and light repairs, Tire changes
    • Replace burnt out light lamps, dispose of them annually with documentation.

    Tool Room - Duties

    • Order Safety PPE equipment, Vests, Glasses, masks, eye glass wipes, etc
    • Maintain Tooling. Record and Track loaned out tooling, inspect, repair all Tooling
    • Restock all tool crib supplies - Tiff co, Parts,
    • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of farm equipment required.
  • Must be able to operate and control the pressure washing equipment.
  • Ag machinery operation experience preferred.
  • Previous mechanical and electrical experience preferred.
  • Basic forklift experience is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete duties in a safe, fast paced manner.
  • Basic computer skills are need especially with programs such as Microsoft, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position will work in a Shop environment the majority of the time with some outside work, exposed to elements of weather, paint and chemicals. This position requires a lot of climbing in, out, on and around machines with heights up to 15' high. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 50lbs. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level in the shop/warehouse may range from moderate to high. Must be flexible during peak season working overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
