Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a full-time, professional-track clinical faculty member to serve as the Director of the Clinical Services and Training Center. This position will begin in the Fall of 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for leadership, strategic direction, and administration of the psychology training clinic, and will maintain its commitment to providing high-quality mental health services to the community and top-tier professional level training to the students in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. The new Director will be joining the department at an exciting time, as the clinic has been newly renovated and is poised for growth and innovation in expanding its reach within the community and developing more diverse, cutting-edge training opportunities for our graduate students.

Responsibilities:



  • Clinic Administration and Management: Oversee the daily operations of the psychology clinic, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the clinic budget, establish client fee schedules, and lead fundraising efforts related to the clinic.
  • Supervision and Training: Provide clinical supervision and training to students in the clinical psychology doctoral program, upholding the highest standards of evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy and ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Teaching: Opportunity to develop and teach core and elective applied clinical courses to clinical psychology doctoral students.
  • Documentation of Program and Student Success: Oversee the documentation of the clinical program's success, including student and alumni placements and competencies, and oversee communication with accrediting and placement organizations (APA, PCSAS, APPIC)
  • External Practicum Development: Develop and oversee external practicum opportunities for students, expanding the reach and impact of the clinical training program.
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate contracts with community partners for clinical services, including negotiation of grants and government contracts for behavioral health.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Determine policies and procedures for clinic operations to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise the Administrative Assistant and clinic graduate assistants, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Clinical Staffing: Participate in clinical staff hiring and conduct performance reviews of clinic staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of clinical services provided, implementing improvements as needed.

  • Fundraising and Grants: Actively pursue development opportunities to support clinic operations and expansion.
  • Technological Advancement: Implement the use of technology for service delivery and tracking of progress in clinical training.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Doctorate in an APA- or PCSAS-accredited Clinical Psychology program.
  • Completion of an APA-approved pre-doctoral clinical internship.
  • At least two years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, including clinical supervision and administration/leadership.
  • Eligible for or currently possess Texas state licensure in psychology.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated commitment to empirically supported treatments.
  • Evidence of ability to treat common psychological disorders.
  • Working knowledge of the psychological clinical science training model.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision in psychotherapy and/or assessment.
  • Evidence of capacity to develop external practicum placements for students.
  • Active clinical practice in intervention and/or assessment.
  • Demonstrated marketing skills for psychological services.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching.
  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills.
