Summary:

Goldbelt Apex LLC is looking for a Scientific Program Manager with a broad understanding of project management with a medical research and development background. The Program Manager needs to have experience hiring research personnel. This role involves planning, developing, and delivering technical documentation, including scientific research reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other scientific materials for publication in print, multimedia, or web-based formats. The ideal candidate should be able to manage complex projects or processes with minimal oversight. They will need to communicate effectively within and outside their function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, along with the ability to maintain focus on complex tasks.

***This is a remote position however, candidate MUST reside within a 50-mile radius of Fort Detrick, MD


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development teams, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and understand complex technical concepts
  • Develop, organize, and deliver technical information (e.g., user guides, training materials, installation manuals) for non-technical and technical users in structured (markup language) or unstructured (Word) environments
  • Ability to read technical drawings and convert the information into easy-to-understand procedures
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately and be comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy
  • Identify and fill documentation gaps by conducting independent research, interviews, and hands-on exploration of the equipment
  • A hands-on approach to understanding the technology and products being documented, with a keen ability to learn new technologies quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible for reviews of documentation for style, design, layout, accuracy, and editorial aspects
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation standards that is measurable across the technical writing team ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Ensure best practices and style guides are adhered to while maintaining a consistent tone, structure, and format across all technical documentation
  • Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Proactively engage with development teams to ensure timely updates and revisions to the documentation based on equipment changes and enhancements
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and trends in technical documentation, and recommend improvements and new approaches for enhancing the documentation process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage complex projects
  • Assist with reviewing SOPs, preparing for oversight visits, and addressing inspection remarks.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expert in program management operations, especially in the talent management life cycle: acquire, develop, employ, and retain.
  • Extensive knowledge in talent management initiatives, strategic planning, workforce development, employee engagement, leadership development, career programs, marketing, graphic design, and data analysis.
  • Outstanding knowledge and competence in one or more specific technical focus areas.
  • Diverse background in scientific writing, committed to best practices in grammar and proofreading.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in project management tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years. Alternatively, 10 years of pertinent experience can substitute for a degree.
  • Over 6 years of professional writing and editing experience, with a strong grasp of consumer brand voice and integrated marketing content.
  • A diverse background of scientific concepts and applications as well as laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Research support in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with familiarization in medical and scientific technology.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually.
