Cloud Data Engineer Location: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) in Charlotte, NC, or Irving, TX Contract Duration: 12 Months Pay Range: $55-73 hr (W2) Job Overview: * A leading organization is seeking a skilled Cloud Data Engineer to support various teams in transitioning their applications to the cloud. This role involves hands-on work with cloud data services, focusing on the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and data analytics solutions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the successful onboarding of applications onto cloud platforms, leveraging your expertise in Terraform and Azure. Key Responsibilities:* * Develop and implement cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform. You'll create private endpoints and understand the differences between Terraform and Terraform Enterprise (TFE). * Design and develop public cloud landing zones automation to establish core foundational data services, using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks. Your efforts will streamline the deployment and enhance the reliability of cloud data solutions. * Work closely with application teams, guiding them through the process of moving their applications to the cloud. Your role will include educating and assisting teams with little to no prior experience in cloud migrations. * Constantly seek opportunities to innovate and improve the efficiency of the tools and services you design, ensuring they align with architectural governance, standards, and policies. Preferred Qualifications: * Strong understanding in data engineering with hands-on experience in Terraform, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks. AWS experience is a plus but not mandatory. * Proficiency in designing and deploying cloud infrastructure, with a focus on automation, templates, and playbooks. * Experience in Big Data technologies is desirable, enhancing your ability to work with large datasets and complex data structures. Additional Skills & Qualifications: * Ability to write data cloud infrastructure as code automation using tools like Terraform. * Experience in developing templates and playbooks for cloud data services. * A strong drive for innovation and continuous improvement in cloud infrastructure services. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $72.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
