Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Benefits Coordinator(Contract) to join our HR Team in Herndon, VA.

The Benefits Coordinator supports the Benefits Team in administering health and welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit plans. This role collaborates with the Total Rewards team on the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring seamless execution and a positive employee experience. The Benefits Coordinator also serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, vendor coordination, and benefits administration.

Your Working Environment:

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation's capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters - located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - it makes flying in a breeze!

Your Challenges:

  • Respond to tier 2 benefit inquiries from the Employee Services team, employees, and HR, providing accurate guidance and support.

  • Address benefits-related issues and escalate complex cases to appropriate benefit partners as needed.

  • Maintain strong relationships with benefits vendors, working directly with them to resolve escalated employee concerns.

  • Oversee day-to-day administration of health and welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit plans for active employees, retirees, and COBRA participants.

  • Develop internal controls and conduct audits to ensure benefit information in Airbus systems and vendor platforms remains accurate and up to date.

  • Partner with Digital and Payroll teams to validate billing accuracy and payroll deductions.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

  • 1+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration, communications or customer focused role.

  • Effective communication skills (written/oral/ presentation), able to present clear and concise briefings and reports both individually and within a team setting or large group.

  • Familiarity with HCMs, Benefit enrollment platforms

  • Workday and Google Suite (Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Onsite 80% Remote 20% Hybrid %

Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment

Carrying: able to carry documents, tools 1 drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.

Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.

Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
