The Opportunity

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and activities relating to international and multi-state payroll processes. They provide subject expertise and guidance across all areas of payroll tax such as: labor & employment tax regulations, Federal, State, and Local Tax legislations, reciprocity rules, multi-state taxation laws, and process and file all quarterly and annual tax filings. Due to the nature of the position, this position requires a high level of discretion and the ability to keep information confidential.

What You'll Do



  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for United States and Canada employees.
  • Ensures timely and accurate entry of data.
  • Assist and provide support to employees and supervisors in our timekeeping system including timesheet review, follow-up, and corrections.
  • Responsible for research, reconciling, and resolution of employment taxes in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Improve tax filing processes and create internal audits to maintain accuracy.
  • Respond to external agencies regarding wage garnishments, verification of employments and comply with record-keeping requirements.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, and design payroll process improvements.
  • Consistently exercises discretion and judgment as related to the performance of the duties and responsibilities.
  • Handles confidential information professionally.
  • Works collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
  • Complies with all company and client safety standards and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects, assist teammates, and perform administrative duties as required.



What We Expect from You



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field and at least 5 years of payroll experience, or related work experience.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in Ultimate Software (Ultipro) and MS Dynamics365 preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and accounting.
  • FPC Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred
  • Program management and payroll systems integration/implementation experience preferred
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential matters related to daily business operations.
  • Strong organizational/follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess knowledge of laws and regulations relating to employment practices.
  • Must possess well-rounded knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be organized, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $62,500- $84,600
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
