Geologist/Environmental Scientist Job Locations

Overview As a Geologist/Environmental Scientist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be directly involved with environmental assessment, monitoring and compliance activities. This role will involve approximately 80-90% field work and 10-20% office work. Your primary responsibilities will include field activities such as assisting with and/or leading groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and soil sampling activities; providing drilling oversight during soil boring and bedrock coring activities and monitoring well and piezometer installation; performing field screening of various media for evidence of environmental impacts using visual observations and electronic monitoring equipment; and performing operations and maintenance activities of environmental remediation systems. You will assist with reporting activities, including managing and interpreting environmental data, developing potentiometric surface maps and geologic cross sections, preparing field reports to document field data collection and monitoring activities, and assisting with the preparation of geologic, environmental and engineering reports for clients and regulators. Your degree of involvement and leadership assignments will be based upon your demonstrated experience and abilities and will grow as you acquire and master new competencies. Roles and responsibilities:
Collect, analyze, and prepare raw data for engineering/scientific project reports, plans, specifications, permits, cost estimates, and other project deliverables.
