You Are:

You are a dedicated and experienced engineer with a robust background in quality management, manufacturing, and fabrication of interconnect products such as connectors, cables, and PCBs. You possess a deep understanding of high-speed digital/high-density electrical connectors, high-speed electrical cables, and their associated manufacturing processes.Your technical acumen is matched by your ability to drive supplier quality and industrialization from design concept through production and end-of-support in a fast-paced and innovative environment. You excel in cross-functional engineering teams and effectively manage supplier relationships to ensure high-quality standards and efficient manufacturing processes. Your analytical skills enable you to identify trends and prioritize actions, and you are adept at using engineering and data-based processes like DOE and Lean 6 Sigma to drive continual improvement. You are a strong communicator, capable of conveying technical information clearly across various levels of the organization and the supply chain.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Owning interconnect supplier quality and supply industrialization from design concept to production/end-of-support.
  • Driving DFx reviews and actions across cross-functional engineering teams and CM/suppliers.
  • Managing supplier industrialization to achieve volume production through evaluation, selection, qualification, and certification.
  • Identifying quality KPIs and driving continual improvement in metrics using engineering and data-based processes like DOE and Lean 6 Sigma.
  • Quickly identifying and managing quality excursions, ensuring clear communication and technical management within the company and the supply chain.
  • Driving suppliers to complete part qualification deliverables, including FAIR, PFD, pFMEA, special process validations, Cpk studies, DFx, operational metrics, PPAP submission/approval, and capacity analysis.
  • Analyzing quality data sets to identify trends and prioritize actions with suppliers.
  • Managing supplier changes, including manufacturing process changes, capacity optimization, facility changes, and new equipment qualification.
  • Managing Synopsys product specification changes and their implementation at suppliers through the change order process.
  • Disposing of discrepant material and driving CAPA with affected suppliers, leading/implementing supplier improvements in quality, cost, and production scale.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Supplier Quality roadmap with the Global Commodity Management team.
  • Traveling domestically and internationally (up to 50% of the time) as needed.
  • Establishing product specifications and quality standards as applicable.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of supplier performance, driving innovation, and enhancing product quality and reliability.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, or supplier/product quality of complex high-speed interconnects.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings containing GD&T and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and custom cable manufacture and quality, including stamping, injection molding, and electroplating processes.
  • Proficiency with data collection, data analysis, quality action plan presentation, 8D root cause analysis, and the use of metrics to drive improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical improvement techniques such as DOE, Lean 6 Sigma, and CpK.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite and experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, statistical analysis tools, and other enterprise software.

By collaborating closely with component suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distribution partners, the team drives continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes.
