The PSG Division Assistant Product Excellence Manager is responsible for increasing market share and driving profitable gallon growth for The Sherwin-Williams Company through developing, training, and executing the Paint Stores Group Product Strategy. This position will support in coordinating the testing of new and upgraded products to determine performance and marketability with target customers and segments, lead the development and execution of product excellence programs and materials, and work with Division Sales and Marketing teams to demonstrate products to new and existing customers. This position will support in identifying and communicating new product opportunities to the Division Marketing VP, the Sr. Director of Product Innovation and the Director of Product Excellence based on field intelligence, competitive insights, quality trend analysis, and voice of customer feedback. This position will also provide complaint support and resolution within the Division to minimize risk and expenses. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Core responsibilities include: * Lead product training to the supporting Area where requested/needed. * Support Division Field Technical Product Manager in field testing. * Collaborate with Product Excellence Manager to plan and execute the national and regional product strategies. * Support product reviews with Division Sales & Marketing to review product performance and identify opportunities that align with national and regional strategy. * Collaborate with Directors of Product Development, Product Manager, and Associate Product Managers to appropriately plan and forecast new and existing products for the Division. * Collaborate with Division and National Accounts to effectively manage product transitions. * Collaborate with Division Sales & Marketing to lead and execute New Product Excellence & Take AIM Training. * Support the NSM appropriately with product presentations and support at the Vendor Show product area. * Collaborate with key stakeholders to appropriately plan and execute all New Product Excellence training materials and field communications (product launch support, collateral, videos, etc.) * Support new product validation as necessary to achieve targets on time and collaborate with the Division to identify appropriate customers for testing. * Collaborate with PSG Quality Manager and Division to identify, analyze, and communicate product quality trends. * Assist with complaint issues as requested by District/Division Management. * Collaborate with the Directors of Product Development to prioritize all Divisional requests. * Provide product training and support as requested by the Division (ex. SM and ASM training). * Contributes to the innovation pipeline for new product development by capturing the voice of the customer through ideation sessions with field employees and customers. * Performs other duties as assigned FORMAL EDUCATION: Preferred: * Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: * Minimum of 3-5 years in PSG field experience * Prior coatings experience with Architectural, Woodcare, Light Industrial Maintenance and concrete coating products * Strong verbal and written presentation skills. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: * Self-directed and self-motivated. Travel: 50% or more |
