Substance Use Grant Project Manager

Department: Behavioral Health

Full-time, Hybrid

Salary Range: $58,947.20 - $88,920.00/yr

Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project. Monitor adherence to project activities, objectives and the timelines for their completion. Coordinate scheduling of meetings and activities and assure appropriate fiscal management of project funds. Act as a liaison with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Will work to address the current gaps in data in the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT): Behind the Walls program.

Schedule: This Limited Term Employment (LTE) position will work a hybrid schedule, Monday-Friday through September 30, 2027.

Job Responsibilities



  • Grant Project Manager - Responsible for project management of grant and oversight of grant requirements (i.e., fiscal goals, grant objectives, outcome measurements, grant reporting).
  • Collaborate and Coordinate with Overdose Public Health Safety Team - Contribute to the OD-PHAST Planning Committee assisting in identifying resources. Contribute to the Data and Strategy Team for regular review of data.
  • Data coordination with correctional facilities and contracted agency - Work to address the current gaps in data availability and access for the "MAT: Behind the Walls" program currently in place for residents of the Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center (CRC) and the Milwaukee County Jail.
  • Facilitate ongoing relationships with key stakeholders - Coordinate scheduling of meetings and activities. Coordinate with Medical College of Wisconsin team for development of the OD-PHAST governing committee. Work collaboratively with Wellpath as the health care provider at the CRC and jail.
  • Coordination of Project Evaluation - Coordinate with UWM-Center for Population Health for project evaluation. Track program metrics quarterly, and use the data to guide, improve, and evaluate the project's impact.
  • Reporting - Complete quarterly performance measurement data reports and submit to the BJA. Complete and submit semi-annual reports. Ensure reporting completion by sub-awardees.
  • Fiscal Management - Assure appropriate fiscal management of project funds.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences



  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and a reliable insured vehicle are required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required
  • One (1) year or more of work experience in Project Management, Grants or Substance Abuse Treatment/Rehabilitation Programs required
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Previous experience working with budgets required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals required



Preferred Education, License/Certification and Experiences



  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Previous work experience in a Supervisory or Management role preferred
