Responsibilities
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Qualifications Education: An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. Education (Specific for the Position): An advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. Experience/Skills: Considered an internal expert in area of expertise. Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations. Can solve complex problems in field. Experience/Skills (Specific for the Position):
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCandidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SPECIFIC FOR THE POSITION)Current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering Experience in analysis for structural response to explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration) Experience with DOE natural phenomena hazard (NPH), Standard 1020, criteria.
