Description
The Personal Trainer will manage day to day operations relating to personal training, strength training, and speed/agility programming. Assist in outreach to high schools, colleges, and other community events through strength and conditioning programming while working closely with members of TCO's sports medicine team. This is a part-time position working Tuesdays and Thursdays out of our Minnetonka location. Viverant Physical Therapy is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions:
- Provide high quality strength and conditioning and personal training to clients of all age ranges using scientific methodology with primary focus on improving athletic performance
- Grow the business of personal training, strength and conditioning and outreach activities involving fitness and personal training to the community
- Develop and perform 1:1, small group, and community outreach strength and conditioning programming
- Maintain safe environment for staff and clients
- Flexibility to work split shifts, weekends, nights, and irregularly scheduled meetings to meet the demands of the business
- Entrepreneurial attitude and drive to establish and maintain a full book of clients. Keep required licensures and credentials up to date and valid
- Establish relationships with coaches of high school and college teams under direction of Director of Therapy, Therapy Manager, and Director of Marketing
- Manage client complaints and customer service issues relating to personal training while collaborating with supervisor when necessary to resolve these issues
- Collaborate with physicians, managers and staff within the organization
- Assist in recruitment of additional members of the personal training team
- Assist Director of Marketing, Sports Medicine Manager and Director of Therapy in development of innovative approaches that bring awareness about Viverant as an expert in the realm of fitness
- Occasionally participate in community functions relating to outreach at TCO events throughout the year
- Ensure lawful and ethical use of personal training services in the clinic(s) assigned
- Communicate frequently with therapists, athletic trainers and physicians to develop and provide cutting edge personal training programs to clients and community
- Effectively perform all duties expected of in the profession of personal training
- Occasionally participate in community functions or outreach events throughout the year
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through accredited and nationally recognized agency required (e.g. ACE, ACSM, etc)
- CSCS certification preferred
- Previous experience working with athletic populations strongly preferred

Essential Requirements: Ability to:

- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
- Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
- Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other work locations, if required
