SUMMARY OF POSITION: A Model Validation Officer should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for reviewing and assessing models as part of Pinnacle's Model Risk Management framework. This position will operate as an integral role in mitigating risk to the firm by working across functional teams, ensuring compliance with the Model Risk Management Policy, and helping promote awareness of Pinnacle's standards as it relates to MRM. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings).
- Perform model validations for models which are validated in-house to include effective challenge of model assumptions, processes, output, etc.
- Partner with model owner(s), developer(s), and user(s) to perform day-to-day responsibilities.
- Partner with third party independent validators, where applicable, and provide effective. challenge to ensure third party validations meet our standards.
- Perform model reviews; includes partnering with model owners.
- Maintain overall compliance with the MRM Policy.
- Support the process of designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining Pinnacle's standards, guidance, practices, templates, and other documentation regarding model validation process.
- Be a valued partner and trusted advisor to our constituencies across the firm.
- Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Description of Experience, Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree is required - finance or business-related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services or risk management.
- Proficient with SAS Enterprise Guide.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with model risk management.
- Knowledge of financial markets and products.

- The physical activities of this job include but are not limited to the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, use of manual dexterity, verbal communication, visual acuity, repetitive motion, and the ability to hear. Often long periods of mental concentration are required. Other activities are the ability to bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp.
