Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?
The Product Manager is responsible for product marketing of the Endress+Hauser gas analysis portfolio in the oil & gas and energy markets, including natural gas, renewable natural gas, gas processing, LNG, refining, petrochemical, and other gas markets associated with these industry segments.

Which essential functions will you perform?

  • The Product Manager acts as the conduit between engineering and customers by formalizing the needs of the market so that plans can be developed to fulfill those needs. The Product Manager will create and maintain market requirement documents (MRD) and work with outsides sales, business development, and customers to develop and approve final market requirements.
  • The Product Manager works with engineering and program/project coordinators to communicate, clarify, and achieve the agreed upon market requirements.
  • Leads and influences others to ensure product launch requirements are completed, including price lists, spare parts lists, sales tools, product specifications, manuals, typical drawings, certifications, PowerPoint presentations, manufacturing readiness, service readiness, and sales readiness.
  • Responsibility as a team member within the technical marketing group to manage a product portfolio, product roadmap and priorities for the innovation process.
  • Establishes pricing strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Develops and maintains product structure (working with data and business systems managers to maintain selectable features & options, spare parts data, pricing, etc.)
  • Works with the Marketing Communications teams as the subject matter expert for product-related content.
  • Delivers training and strategic product plans to global, regional and local markets via published documents, videos, and in-person and remote events.
  • Occasionally works with sales channels, customer service and technical service groups in support of existing products when the escalation process requires product management support.
  • Works with Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, and other stakeholders to assess feasibility of sales opportunities for non-standard products and makes bid or no-bid decisions for non-standard/custom products based on policy.

What qualifications are needed?

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required. In addition, a management degree is a plus.
  • Product marketing experience is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of product marketing experience for B2B industrial markets and analytical instrumentation. Experience with energy markets and process automation is a plus.
  • The candidate must be adaptable to a variety of job assignments in a very dynamic organization and must be a self-starter with the ability to learn technical product details and terminology. We're seeking someone with uncompromising personal integrity, as well as a high level of respect for all individuals.
  • Must have excellent project management skills to successfully manage simultaneous projects.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to take ownership of marketing projects and to successfully maintain schedules and deadlines.
  • Experience influencing others in a lead role to manage projects through completion (experience should be demonstrable).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, experience with public speaking.
  • Excellent writing skills, good grammar, sentence structure, copywriting and editing, bulletins, mass communications, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Graphic design and drawing skills are a plus (communicating ideas with images and illustrations).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Working experience with financial reporting.
  • Must be able to analyze periodic statement with orders, sales, costs, margins and profit.
  • Ability to develop, assess, and communicate financial metrics with respect to assigned products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The position will utilize Microsoft 365 including OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, Planner and other MS applications. Must have working knowledge.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software will be used on the job. Experience with similar systems a plus.
  • While this role does not perform data entry, it requires an ability to extract data and develop reports for decision making through data mining and reporting software. Experience a plus.

The listed range for this position is $115,000-$130,000 but the actual package offered may vary depending on different factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation for this position would include other elements which include an annual nondiscretionary bonus.
