The City of Peoria is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our Finance Department in a fixed-term, benefited position. This role is key in analyzing and optimizing business processes, financial systems, and workflows to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with finance stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial systems, processes, and data structures.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Design, implement, and support process automation and workflow optimizations.
• Perform system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for financial system enhancements.
• Create and maintain essential documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and technical specifications.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for financial applications.
• Work closely with IT teams and vendors to implement system upgrades, integrations, and ERP projects.
• Stay current with financial system trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
• Support the ongoing ERP implementation project.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of systems application analysis, programming, and related experience specific to assigned area.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in a municipal or government setting.
• PMI-PBA certification
• PMP certification
• Demonstrated experience with workflow analysis, Use Case development, sequence diagrams, storyboards, and Test Cases.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ability to anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mindset.
