About the Role
Redhorse transforms how the government uses data and technology. This critical role directly supports the Department of the Air Force (DAF) by providing expert Expeditionary Engineering and Joint Doctrine support under AF/A4C program management oversight. You will play a vital role in shaping DAF policy, enhancing readiness, and ensuring effective Civil Engineer capabilities across the full spectrum of operations. Your work directly impacts the Air Force's ability to respond to peacetime and wartime contingencies, making a significant contribution to national security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, consolidate, develop, and maintain Expeditionary Engineering and DAF and Joint Doctrine governance and programmatic documents (e.g., DAFIs, AFI 48 policies), action plan recommendations, task and inquiry responses, and issue resolution action plans.
  • Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders, participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing, and delivering/presenting associated meeting materials (e.g., slides, after-action reports, minutes).
  • Develop and advocate for DAF capability needs within all Expeditionary Engineering and Technology initiatives.
  • Provide senior-level perspective and inputs into the development of DAF and Joint Doctrine, policy, and guidance to codify CE capabilities, roles, and responsibilities across all operational spectrums.
  • Analyze proposed policies, doctrine, strategic plans, and concepts of operation; provide recommendations to Government representatives on the suitability of these documents to meet DAF requirements. Review, update, prepare, and coordinate doctrine documents, directive publications (instructions and manuals), non-directive publications (handbooks, pamphlets, etc.), and joint publications.
  • Provide technical analysis and support for the development and maintenance of DAF strategic goals, objectives, and sub-objectives.
  • Participate in and support the Readiness Sub-table, share table, and associated subordinate panels and working groups. Review, update, prepare, and coordinate doctrine documents for Government approval.
  • Assist with deliverables in the form of technical reports, white papers, briefings, point papers, bullet background papers, and/or other formats, as specified by the Government representative.
  • Review technical documents and prepare articulate and concise review comments for senior leadership endorsement. Assist in developing staff packages through the HAF electronic staffing system.
  • Represent and coordinate DAF Civil Engineer equities in federal, joint service, and cross-functional HAF forums. Interface with LeMay Center, MAJCOM, AFCEC, HAF staff, AFIMSC, and Joint Staff counterparts.
  • Review, analyze, assess, and update the Engineer Force Laydown (EFL) and other readiness products. Assess existing and planned changes to identify and propose revisions based on strategic constructs, operational plans, and Global Force Management (GFM) requirements. Utilize information sources such as ARIS, DRRS, TPFDD, MILPDS, and MAJCOM/Center/Installation representatives.
  • Review and analyze tasks and products from the Task Force Continuum and assist in responding to the High Velocity Analysis of DAF civil engineer laydown and requirements. Advocate for resources to support engineer readiness.
  • Review, analyze, and assist in recommending or creating Unit Type Codes (UTCs) to effectively posture engineer forces for peacetime and wartime contingencies.
  • Coordinate with multiple offices, agencies, and organizations to develop analyses and courses of action. Provide senior DAF leadership with decision analyses and documentation for major issue resolution.
  • Review, analyze, and provide recommendations for policy, guidance, and strategic documentation affecting Civil Engineer peacetime and wartime contingency operations.
  • Review, analyze, and assist in recommending or creating training and exercise program requirements to support the engineer portfolio.
Required Experience/Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in Expeditionary Engineering Support.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in Expeditionary Engineering Support.
  • Broad expertise in corporate processes, policies, and programs, and GFM policies, guidance, and strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Experience
  • Experience working with the Air Force's electronic staffing system.
  • Experience with ARIS, DRRS, TPFDD, and MILPDS systems.
  • Specific experience with DAF and Joint Doctrine development.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience presenting to senior military leadership.
