Position Summary: Eastern New Mexico University's Department of Art invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Art (Visual Arts), beginning August of 2025. This tenure-track, full-time, on-campusposition requires teaching courses in beginning and advanced ceramics and sculpture, as well as introductory-level three-dimensional media (3D design). Courses are assigned by the department chair and may include other studio art courses and Art Appreciation. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, creative and scholarly work, and academic service.The ENMU Department of Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with emphases in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, and 2D Animation. This is a residential position with campus presence expected, including face-to-face teaching on campus. Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach a 12-credit hour load each semester; first-year faculty teach a 9-credit hour load
- Continued creative work and/or scholarly publications and presentations
- Academic advising for undergraduate students
- Serve on department, college, and university committees
- Commitment to advancing the goals and mission of the department, including departmental assessment, strategic plans, curriculum development, student recruitment, and student retention
- Manage and maintain the ceramics studio including safety training for students
- Lead the "Clayhounds" student ceramics organization
- Participating in the New Faculty Investment Program
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair or dean
Minimum Job Requirements:
- An earned MFA in Visual/Studio Art or terminal degree in related field
- Demonstrated ability to teach, advise, and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Consistent record of creative/scholarly activity
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse learning and working environment
- Demonstrated leadership and enthusiasm for leading departmental student organizations
- Commitment to creating and maintaining external relationships for student internships
Clear plans for scholarly activity; publishing and presenting creative and scholarly work

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
