JOB SUMMARY Works under general supervision to perform skilled grounds keeping and gardening duties on grounds and in greenhouse of university. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education Minimum 8th grade education Experience <1 year Six (6) months experience as Groundskeeper Assistant or equivalent Licenses and Certifications Valid State of Texas Driver's License required or obtained within 6 months of being hired. within 180 Days JOB DUTIES Cultivates, prunes, sprays, fertilizes, plants and transplants wide variety of shrubs, plants, trees, and flowers. Waters shrubbery, hedges, seedlings, flowers, and lawns. Prepares propagation beds, potting materials, and tropical plantings. Pots, sprays, and waters greenhouse plants, flowers, and shrubs. Cuts grass, using power or hand mowers. Trims and edges sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds. Cuts weeds and brush, and removes leaves and rubbish from grounds. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Performs related duties as assigned.
