General Purpose of Job: Performs general clerical, organizational and office support duties for the department. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties for the department, example: scheduling appointments, interacting with patients / customers, preparing medical records for audits.

Identifies and trouble shoots technology failures and follows computer downtime processes. -
Independently assists departmental caregivers by coordinating mail, email, fax, phone call distributions. -
Maintains office supply par levels and distribution of supplies to caregivers. -
Operates and utilizes office equipment and software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copy / Fax Machine, electronic health record, and answering and directing a multiline phone. -
Communicates with patients, families, members of the health care team and others in a professional, diplomatic and empathetic manner. -
Ability to function in a fast paced, large volume setting.

Work Experience |
Minimum of six months experience in a healthcare office or similar setting. |
Education |
High school diploma, GED or successful completion of 12 grades combined with continued enrollment in early college program. |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Clerical skills necessary to perform data entry, prepare reports, and tabulate routine data * Interpersonal skills for effective communication * Knowledge of basic medical terminology, health insurance, policies, or procedures * Ability to view a computer CRT for prolonged periods * Able to respond to and prioritize multiple requests and variable degrees of unpredictability requiring adaptability in work activities * Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications/ software's, including Epic and keyboard functions * Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel at the beginner level. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated operational knowledge of the computerized scheduling system. * May perform patient charge entry and retrieval of reports. |
