Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7)

Department/Organization: 200603 - Admissions

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings, nights, & weekends may be required

Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Recruits students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities. Coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students. Plans student receptions and counselor briefings. Analyzes data on current and future territories and markets.

Additional Department Summary: Travels around the country as requested by supervisor based on Admissions priorities to provide leadership in identifying and enrolling undergraduate students, serving as primary contact with local high school guidance counselors and principals, coordinating recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters, identifying prospective qualified undergraduate students, planning student receptions, and counselor briefings, etc.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and some recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Must be able to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed. Must have personal transportation and be able to travel alone. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.

Skills and Knowledge: Interest in working with prospective college students and their families. Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Ability to travel as requested by supervisor or management to any location in the U.S. to perform recruiting activities for the University. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual. Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, or counseling.
