Responsibilities

Peraton requires a System Engineer to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

As a Mobility Team Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and performance of software and hardware. Your responsibilities will include performing tier three support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to possessing in-depth technical knowledge of the Government's software and hardware, you'll need advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and design skills. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical users is essential. Familiarity with the systems engineering process and data is a fundamental requirement for performance improvement. You'll actively participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests. Additionally, this position involves generating assessments and implementing actionable recommendations based on reviews. Extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance, is crucial.

Duties include but are not limited to:

    Analyze the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain MDM solutions (e.g., Intune, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron).
  • Enforce mobile security policies, including device encryption, remote wipe, and app restrictions.
  • Manage device enrollments, user access controls, and provisioning.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot MDM-related issues, ensuring device compliance.
  • Configure mobile devices (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS) according to company policies.
  • Provide Level 2 & 3 support for mobile device issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Implement over-the-air (OTA) updates, patches, and OS upgrades.
  • Implement security best practices, including Zero Trust and endpoint protection.
  • Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Perform regular audits and reports on device security and usage.
  • Deploy, manage, and update corporate apps through MDM platforms.
  • Configure enterprise app stores and ensure proper licensing management.
  • Support mobile app security measures, including app wrapping and containerization.
  • Integrate MDM solutions with existing enterprise systems (Active Directory, Exchange, Azure AD, etc.).
  • Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to improve mobile device management workflows.
  • Optimize device performance and user experience.

  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods for USSOCOM's IT infrastructure
  • Create comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios for functional, regression, and deployment testing
  • Conduct thorough analysis, diagnostics, and evaluations of products and systems
  • Make recommendations based on test results
  • Collaborate with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications
  • Test, evaluate, and verify hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements
  • Monitor and improve testing processes through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis
  • Provide expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and PowerShell scripting
  • Participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests
  • Generate assessments and implement solutions for network and system improvements
  • Assisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required
  • Maintaining currency in applicable industry standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Translate data and test results into evaluative conclusions


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • BS and 5 or more years of experience; Associates and 7 years of experience; at least 9 years of experience with no degree or 3 years with a MS/MA Degree.
  • A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
  • 3+ years of experience in mobile device engineering, IT support, or endpoint management.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program
  • Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, certificates).
  • Strong knowledge of iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS device management.
  • In-depth understanding of Active Directory (AD), Trellix, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with software and hardware integration testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)
  • Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II AND MCE Azure Architect OR MCE Azure DevOps Engineer OR VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate's work area

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
