This position is responsible for assisting with the supervision of all Returns TSM's to ensure maximum productivity is accomplished. Fills in for Supervisor in his/her absence by answering daily work process questions and assists in the decision making of the daily functions by providing guidance and direction to TSM's. Handles training, performance, and related employee issues with guidance of Supervisor. Acts as a liaison/lead between internal TSM's, department management, and Business Partners. Ensuring that all operational, as well as financial fiscal cut-offs are planned, executed, and completed. This position within the Distribution Center is responsible for the coordination of processing returns for Customers, Technicians, FSC's as well as to our Business partners of all Corporate Inventory. Selects and sorts products to ensure proper processes within D.O.T (Department of Transportation) guidelines and regulatory compliance. This TSM needs to be a highly motivated individual, self-starter with a positive, energetic attitude, proven computer and typing skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal/listening skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Please include % of time for each responsibility):

  • Assists with overseeing a team to ensure inventory levels and turns (schedules) are maintained for optimal efficiency.
  • Trains TSMs on a variety of warehouse functions and company systems.
  • Responsible for section criteria and reconciliation of RTV (Return to Vendor) items. Makes inventory adjustments, contacts respective Business Partners, and coordinates communication of the proper documentation. Once acceptance or agreement is reached, responsible for processing the proper packing, documentation, and shipping of products back to Business Partners.
  • Ensures that TSMs are working within department guidelines.
  • Provides supervisor with input concerning team performance, quality, and workflow issues.
  • Responsible for processing customer returns accurately and within department guidelines. Moves returned merchandise to various locations within the department by pushing and/or pulling a hand pallet jack/cart.
  • Strong problem-solving, follow-up skills and ability to come to a sound decision with the information that has been provided.
  • Proactively ensures smooth operations.
  • Assists handling emails/calls regarding customer inquiries regarding returns.
  • Ensures controlled interface with internal Customers and Departments (A/P, Shipping, Customer returns, Receiving, Financial Inventory, etc.) and keeps records of all significant interaction.
  • Hands-on processing, including all warehouse type function picking, packing, etc. is required.
  • Determines disposition of returned products to ensure the highest ROI and separates appropriately.
  • Verifies correct item code, lot number, expiration date, as well as tie back to original purchase order.
  • Receives, processes, and creates monthly transfers of inventory
  • Processes overstock returns.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • PC skills in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of AS400 or similar systems.
  • Ability to learn new software and programs as needed.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 3 or more years of related experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Bachelor's degree preferred.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
