Description
The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities between with the Zeeland planning team and operations to fulfill the daily production plan.

Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities:
  • Ensures process orders are available as well as coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging SKUs to support the production plan
  • Coordinates with the Vertellus Procurement Team and suppliers to ensure needed raw materials are ordered and delivered timely to support the daily production plan
  • Serves as the key point of contact to support specialty chemicals for the Zeeland site with respect to material transfers, both incoming and outgoing. This includes finished good shipments to other Vertellus sites and third-party warehouses
  • Monitors key performance indicators and their achievement for the site
  • Leads/Develops site cycle count and takes ownership of SAP accuracy
  • Assists in the analysis and optimization of site inventory projects
  • Interacts with a variety of other positions - both internal and external to Vertellus
  • Potentially handles a variety of chemicals and chemical waste products; some of which can be hazardous
  • Serves as a backup to the Supply Chain Manager position
  • Undertakes other duties as may be required by Vertellus Management as necessary

  • Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

  • Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school degree or equivalent required;
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or other related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Planning/Scheduling role
  • Experience in a Chemical or Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience using MRP / ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Possesses strong analytical and math skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds, and working in extreme temperatures
