SUMMARY

This position coordinates the daily and weekly processing of a variety of Civil Pre-Trial Motions and Petitions and Zoning cases that are filed with the Court. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion, and critical thinking. Additionally, good attention to detail and data entry skills are required. This position is of substantial importance to the operation of the Court.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Processes Motions Court matters: files and docket entries are reviewed extensively. A detailed review is made to determine how the motion or petition is to be processed, and which Court Orders are to be issued, the same prepared, and sent to the Judge for review and signing. This includes the processing of discovery motions in conjunction with the discovery hearing officers. The proper disposition of such matters requires a basic knowledge of legal standards and their application in individual cases.
*Inputs data from argument petitions, motions, briefs/memorandum, and miscellaneous filings into Excel spread sheets for monitoring.
* Processes Zoning matters: zoning cases are monitored for timely processing by the Court. Briefing schedule information is issued to counsel and provided to the judges. Ripe zoning cases are forwarded to the judges for disposition.
* Processes Stipulations: searching civil dockets for stipulations which are forwarded to the assigned judge for review and signature.
* Tracks mortgage foreclosures and other miscellaneous case types for the issuance of case management orders; provides this information to the staff member responsible for issuing these case management orders.
* Interacts with the public regarding filing of paperwork for In Forma Pauperis, License Suspension,
Name Changes and Landlord Tenant Eviction matters.
* Any other duties as may be assigned by the District Court Administrator.
* Non-remote work required.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Credentials
* Paralegal Certificate preferred (not required), or other related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
* High School Diploma.
