What You Will Do
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, and site security program.
  • Accountable for site operations; including, HSE, quality, supply, cost and people
  • Responsive in the event of a safety related incident, and/or investigation, and implements corrective action with urgency
  • Maintain the site expenditure and assets to achieve financial targets.
  • Manages and develops individual performances or operations and leveraged functions through positive reinforcement and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure delivery of products and services.
  • Communicate all information that may have an impact on Dyno Nobel, its business (current or future), its operations, and any competitor activity.
  • Management of site operating expenditure
  • Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability as measured by EBIT, EBITA, and EBITDA.
  • Manage maintenance systems for all company assets to minimum company standards.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement initiatives to reduce overall cost of doing business.
  • Identify and recommend Continuous Improvement projects that have financial benefits for both Dyno Nobel and our Customer.
  • Work closely with engineering as needed in the commissioning of new equipment.
  • Communicate improvements in equipment, procedures, systems, and management to other business areas.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP/daily processing requirements.
  • Requires ability to make decisions relative to plant operating methods and equipment, and making decisions in emergency situations where equipment and/or personnel are endangered.
What we Require
  • B.S. in Engineering with a preference in Chemical Engineering and a background in heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • 15+ years' working experience with progressively increasing professional or technical responsibility, with a minimum of 5 years in supervisory role within a relevant industry.
  • People management skills including leadership, performance management and coaching
  • Experience in process safety management with hazardous chemicals in continuous processes eg.ammonia, methanol, hydrocarbons, refining or similar
  • Employee and organizational development
  • Developing and executing strategic plans
  • Experience with safety, environment, quality, maintenance, and training systems.
  • Experience within a PSM environment
  • Experience with Regulatory Government and local community agencies.
  • Strong understanding and acceptance of responsibility for compliance to relevant OSHA, ATF, DOT and EPA and local regulations.
  • Ability to provide direction and coaching to others in an effective leadership manner
