DESCRIPTION

The LVN plays a vital role in supporting clinic operations by performing a wide range of patient care activities. Responsibilities include assisting with patient triage, preparing patients for examinations, administering medications, conducting and documenting breath tests, and providing overall clinical support. This position requires strong initiative, the ability to prioritize critical tasks efficiently, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment. Other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
  • Willing to work overtime as required. Required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
  • Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $64,519 - $80,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.90 - $38.41

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
