We are seeking a Director, Operations Finance to join the team located in Gaithersburg, MD. As a leader within our Operations Finance team, you will report to the Chief Accounting Officer. This role provides management and leadership to the operations finance team associated with global operating expense consolidation efforts, strategic planning and analysis supporting business decisions by the executive leadership, operating costs forecasting, and month end close activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Serve as a catalyst within the Global Finance organization to deliver a portfolio of projects and drive initiatives to optimize financial performance and enhance profitability.

* Collaborate with department heads to understand business drivers, challenges, and opportunities.

* Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making and achieve financial objectives.

* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team supporting the Operations of Novavax's product portfolio. The Operations team includes manufacturing, quality, process & analytical development, supply chain, and regulatory affairs.

* Support the Operations long-range plans that incorporate the financial impacts of the Company's strategies and initiatives through sophisticated financial models and analyses.

* Develop and lead the annual budget and forecast process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

* Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team. Enhance management reporting and commentary that provides senior leaders with timely insights into trends, operational results, and growth drivers.

* Communicate financial insights in a clear and compelling manner to non-finance stakeholders.

* Establish and maintain internal controls consistent with corporate requirements and good business practice. Oversee coordination of information to external auditors.

* Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance, including support for ad hoc projects and Finance department initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

* BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting, Master's degree and CPA preferred.

* 10+ years finance experience (Biotech company experience preferred) including 3+ years with a Big 4 Audit Firm (preferred) and 5+ years managing teams.

* The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of management of projects within a large Global Finance Team, combined with knowledge of strategic and operational finance systems and the mechanics of finance operations.

* Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

* Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SOX is required.

* Business partner mindset with advanced / expert Excel financial modeling, forecasting and analytical skills.

* Strong financial system / ERP expertise and passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement in processes.

* Experience working in global high growth companies is a plus.
